'One of the Most Beautiful Engagement Rings': How Much Does Taylor Swift's Newest Bling Cost?
A surprise engagement reveal by the "Bejeweled" hitmaker and Kansas City Chiefs tight end has netizens and experts buzzing over one eye-catching detail.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have officially announced their engagement, confirming long-standing speculation about their relationship. The couple shared the news on their Instagram pages on August 26, 2025, offering fans a first look at Swift's engagement ring, a piece that has since generated significant online discussion.
Reactions across social media quickly poured in. "Nice ring from vending machine," one critic bluntly commented. Others, however, were far more enthusiastic. "I love it! It old fashioned and elegant! Old world antique looking! I love it," one fan wrote.
Another added, "I love the antique mine cut! Old fashioned and incredibly romantic, just like them!! Wishing them a lifetime of happiness!" One admirer gushed, "That's one of the most beautiful rings I've ever seen on a celebrity π tasteful, classic, romantic, expensive but not tacky β€οΈ."
Jewelry experts have offered a wide range of insights into the ring's design, craftsmanship, and potential value βunderscoring just how unique the piece is.
Ann Grimmett, vice president of merchandising at Jared Jewelers, offered one of the more modest estimates. She described the center stone as a bezel-set, 7 to 9 carat, elongated old mine cushion cut, set in 18k yellow gold.
"The side stones look to be a half-moon plus a small round, which contribute to its more vintage look," she explained. Based on these features, she estimated the ring's value between $250,000 and $500,000.
Weighing in next, Neil Dutta, managing director at Angelic Diamonds, emphasized how its vintage character aligns with current design trends. "This antique-inspired style is very on trend right now, and the choice of yellow gold gives the ring a warm, romantic feel that suits her perfectly," he said, estimating its price between $1.3 million and $1.5 million.
Jillian Sassone, founder of Marrow Fine, focused on the ring's uniqueness rather than its monetary value. She described it as "effortless, classic,β and "very Swift."
She also noted its rarity, "One of the most interesting aspects of Swift's antique diamond is that it means it's one of a kind, because of the way these diamonds were mined. No two are ever the same."
Providing the highest estimate was celebrity jeweler George Khalife, known professionally as George the Jeweler. He believes the center diamond could be close to 20 carats and values the piece between $3.5 million and $5 million. "The ring seems to come with some serious history! Old Mine diamonds are rare and hard to come by," he said.
He explained that the diamond is naturally occurring and hand-cut using traditional techniques rarely seen in modern jewelry-making. These methods, he noted, give the ring its authentic antique appearance β an aesthetic he believes suits Swift perfectly.
Rounding out the expert opinions, Hannah Florman, a fine jeweler who specializes in bespoke, high-end engagement rings, offered further context on the ringβs rare features. "High-color antiques are extremely rare,β she explained. She added that older diamonds were often cut using less advanced tools, which usually resulted in lower color quality.

Because Swift's diamond has both a high color grade and significant size β uncommon for antique stones β it would have been more difficult and expensive to source. She also noted that its soft, pillow-like shape, rather than a typical modern oval, adds to its vintage charm.
