New Details About the Death of Kelly Clarkson's Ex-Husband Brandon Blackstock Emerge

Loved ones have shared how they remember the late talent manager Brandon Blackstock in an obituary filled with personal touches, but one notable name was missing.

Just days after his death on August 7, 2025, following a three-year battle with cancer, Brandon Blackstock's family confirmed plans for a celebration of life on Sunday, August 17, in Montana.

Friends and loved ones are invited, with service details provided directly by relatives, according to an obituary posted by Butte Funeral Homes. It listed his surviving children, parents, stepparents, siblings, and grandchildren, but did not mention his ex-wife, singer Kelly Clarkson.

Instead of flowers, the family requested donations to the Brandon Blackstock Memorial Fund at the Montana Stockgrowers Foundation.

As the obituary circulated, tributes began to appear on social media from those close to Blackstock. Among them was country music star Reba McEntire, who was married to Blackstock's father, Narvel, from 1989 to 2015.

She shared photos of herself and Blackstock smiling together, writing, "Last week, my stepson/oldest son Brandon Blackstock went home to be with God. His struggle is over and he is in eternal peace in God's presence."

She continued, "There is no one else like him, and I’m thankful for the time we had together. His legacy and laughter will be carried on through his family. Rest in peace cowboy. Happy trails to you til we meet again."
